Another thing I like about your story is that N. trusts Kendra enough on sight to believe that Kendra can keep her safe; it makes me wonder whether local folks in Kendra's hometown have caught glimpses of her on patrol often enough to notice her as someone out of the ordinary, even though Sam Zabuto raised Kendra to believe that it's safest for a Slayer or Potential to live a solitary life. And that Kendra is happy about her cute new waterproof trenchcoat - she might have come to Sunnydale with only the clothes she was wearing, but there's no reason to believe she wouldn't have had clothes at home that were practical but still stylish, given that her outfit in Sunnydale was stylish and she was obviously wearing makeup!
